If you truly observe the human condition, you will soon see that we strive to not be too dissimilar from other human beings by default. We give a lot of our lives away to fear. Fear of judgement and fear of mistakes and failure. We squeeze ourselves into a space that were never meant for us. We fall in line.
Many people live in the realm of realism which makes them unable to imagine excellence despite the odds. They never reach their full potential because their desires rest in the eyes and mouths of other people. Their minds crave opinion and they direct their lives as such.
Dreams and passions become hobbies and the expectations of others choke out ambition... so, hobbies becomes chores. The box of culture and society creates mediocrity, complacency and reaps an individual of truly living.
Do not be afraid to stand out from the crowd; to abandon the herd. Wanting to be someone else is a waste of the person you are. Asking for what you need is considered a rebellious act, but you do not need to bend or break yourself to simply earn someone else’s acceptance and you do not need to spend all of your time doing something you do not even like to earn others’ approval.
You were not born to be ordinary. Never shrink yourself to make others feel comfortable. Be you. Unapologetically.
